Meet the Team

Shihan Tim Henry leads the team with over 30 years of Jujitsu experience. He has trained military, police and the highest levels of security. Below is a picture of him showing some moves to Canadian Team member Mike Dowsett.

Ellie Holifield is the Assistant Team Captain and she will be fighting for the first Womens Lightweight Jujitsu Championship of the World. She is incredibly hard working in the gym and demands the same from the team. She may look small, but due to her training, she's a very dangerous fighter who will dominate her competitor on the ground. Mike Dowsett is a powerhouse for the team with excellent ring experience in kickboxing, but limited jujitsu training. He is strong, aggressive and will be relying on his stand-up techniques to carry him through to a gold medal.

Yoshan Perera is a 185 pound grappler from New Westminster. He brings with him not only jujitsu experience, but also experience with jeet kun do, muay thai and weapons.

Nairn "Junior" Mckenna is a fast and agile fighter who is very dangerous in the ring because he's always thinking. He also becomes more motivated each time a competitor scores a hit on him.
